A black sheet of paper was made first, from 100% cotton rag, and while the sheet was resting on the mould water droplets were cast down creating craters. Next a finely beaten cotton rag, pigmented white, was sprayed across the surface. The sheet was then pressed and placed in a dryer.
The surface is non-dimensional and is quite unbelievable. It represents how flexible a cotton rag is as a fiber for paper arts. It is definitely mind-blowing.
This paper is featured in the Winter issue of 2009
